- Every circle passes through the centres of its neighbours.
- The six outer centres form a perfect hexagon with side = radius.
- It is the exact shadow of eight spheres on the corners of a cube: the Egg of Life.
- Add another ring of 12 circles and you have the Flower of Life.
History and meaning
Often read as the seven days of creation, one circle per day. The rosette of six petals is also one of the oldest decorative motifs, carved as a protective "hexafoil" on doorways and roof beams across Europe and the Middle East.
